If you need Hand Embroidery,Welcome to our On-Camera Department!
The art of embroidery is thousands of years old. Hand embroidery can be traced back as far as the ancient Egyptians. The robes of the pharaohs were ornately decorated with intricate embroidery designs which continued through medieval times all the way up to the present.
Today, computers and embroidery machines have helped in the advancement of the art. We haven’t lost the connection to the past though. At Sichel we have highly skilled seamstresses on our team. They produce some of the most amazing hand embroidery that you will ever see.
The seamstress sews the design using the “juki” machine. Following the pattern for the design they place each hand sewn stitch by eyesight. Pretty impressive, huh?
If a design is too large to be hooped and sewn on the embroidery machine, we can still produce the item. The dragon on the kimono that Christopher Walken wore in the movie "Balls of Fury" is an example of our work. The dragon design went from his neck down to the mid section of the kimono.
There are a number of oversized items that we would embroider in the On-Camera Dpt such as:
- Jacket Backs and sleeves
- Banners
- Flags
- Theater Curtains
- Large Character logo embroidery
- Oversized Custom Creations
