There is a good story behind the Flight Jacket. It is also known as the Bomber Jacket and was originally created for pilots in World War 1. The cockpits of the fighter planes were not covered. As a result the pilots would get really cold flying high above the earth with their hair blowing in the wind so the bomber jacket was created to keep them warm.

In the time since the creation of the American flight jacket in 1917 it has become a part of our pop culture and fashion. The credits for this style include NBC Sports, Nicktoons and Angry Beavers just to name a few.
